Krafty Kids Club- Decoupaging tea light jars

Where: The Foxlowe Arts Centre, Cabbage Rose Workshops

When: 27th May, 10-12.

“Decoupage” comes from the French word “decouper,” which means to cut out or cut from something else. The art of decoupage means that you engage in the artistic pursuit of gluing items to a surface. It sounds pretty easy but I can assure you, it's not. There are a couple of tips and tricks the children will learn. Over this 2 hour workshop children will be introduced and guided through the basics of this fascinating craft. All materials will be provided as well as a choice of simple but beautiful designs so the focus can be getting to grips with the method and application. Children will be able to decoupage and take home several pieces.

These jars can be used as candle holders, vases, pencil holders or any other creative ideas the children can think of. Believe me, there will be plenty! :)

To speed up the process, we'll be using hairdryers so this workshop might be noisy at times. Please ask the children to wear appropriate clothing- though aprons will be available up on request.

There will be juice and biscuits for the children, please let me know if they have  any allergies.
